A Community Centre for Bridge of Weir

What is The Bridge :

1. An organisation known as "The Bridge" has been set up with the active involvement of Freeland, St. Machar's Ranfurly and St Mary's Churches, the Community Council, the Tenants & Residents Association and the Festival Committee.

2. The Bridge will be a not-for-profit company with charitable status.

3. The Renfrewshire Council has leased The Bridge, the library building in main Street for a nominal rent.

4. The former library building will accommodate the Post Office and a Community Centre.


What will be in the Community Centre ?

1. Post Office Essential.

2. Shop selling Fairtrade products, books and other goods.

3. Drop-in centre where you can have tea or coffee.

4. Book exchange.

5. Various organisations (such as Credit Union) will open at particular times.

6. Facilities for mothers and younger children.

7. Centre for young people.

8. A place where older residents can get together.

9. A venue for temporary exhibitions of paintings and crafts.
